
Ruth S. Walters, President
Ruth Walters has more than 20 years of experience in State government service. Prior to starting her consulting firm, Ruth served as an Assistant Comptroller in the Office of the State Comptroller. In that job, Ruth managed more than 250 employees in all the payment, contracting and accounting operations in the entire State.
Ruth also has extensive business experience and served as a Project Director at Lockheed Martin IMS where she managed a first of its kind seven state contract for the delivery of food stamp and welfare benefits in New York and New England.
Ruth served as a top level aide to two Speakers in the New York State Assembly, as Director of the Office of Business Permits and Regulatory Assistance (now titled the Governor’s Office of Regulatory Reform.) and as a Special Assistant to former Governor Mario M. Cuomo.
Ms. Walters is a frequent lecturer on procurement and contracting issues and is an Adjunct Faculty member of the Rockefeller College at the State University of New York at Albany. She is on the Board of Directors of Senior Services of Albany, The Albany Roundtable and serves on the Executive Committee of the Center for Women in Government and Civil Society. She has a B.A. from Brown University and an MBA from Union College.
